Waqf Al Quran to Muslim Households in Chad

Build your hereafter by making waqf of Al-Qur’an to Muslims in the remote villages in Chad. The proceeds will be used to purchase 300 copies of the Quran to be distributed to the families of each household.

Story

Chad is a landlocked country in north-central Africa, bordered by Libya, Sudan, the Central African Republic, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Niger. It was colonized by the French, and gained independence in 1960. With a population of around 16 million people, the country is ethnically diverse, speaking over 200 languages and dialects. Despite its natural resources, Chad remains one of the world's poorest countries, with an economy largely based on agriculture, livestock, and oil production.

Islam is the most widely practiced religion in Chad, with approximately 55-60% of the population being Muslim. Introduced around the 11th century, Islam is predominantly practiced in the northern and central regions of the country. 

Problem

Like many other African countries, Chad faces socioeconomic challenges, including political instability, high unemployment rates, limited access to healthcare, education, and basic services. Limited job opportunities and income disparities can contribute to social inequalities and discontent within the community. 

Fund needed

The proceeds of this campaign will be used to sponsor 300 Qurans to be distributed to families in Chad which will accelerate their learning. Imagine the impact this good act will have on them. We, therefore, aim to raise RM6000 to provide a copy of Qur’an to each household at a minimum so that every one in the family will benefit from it.

Abu Hurairah reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him.” (Muslim)
