Sponsor 30 Quran Teachers in Kaduna

Campaign Objective

To help sustain 30 Quran teachers who are teaching 390 students in Kaduna state, by sponsoring their salaries for a period of one month.

Story

The prophet (ﷺ) said in hadith reported by Abdullah Ibn Umar “The most beloved people to Allah are those who are the most beneficial to people.

Fatimah Academy was established in October 2010 to provide quality education, both in the sacred teachings of the Holy Quran, Islamic Studies and in conventional studies. The academy believes that empowering orphans and the children from economically less fortunate family with Quranic knowledge would help them raise their spiritual ranks in the akhirah, as well providing them with the skills and knowledge of teaching the Quran in turn to the society in the future.

Achievements

By the Grace of Allah, in 15 years, the academy currently hosted 390 students, 153 males and 237 females. Through our continuous efforts and Allah’s assistance the academy managed to achieve:

1. By the grace of Allah, we have proudly witnessed the graduation of over 150 pupils who have memorized significant portions and achieved proficiency in the Qur’an and Islamic studies.

2. We have successfully integrated Islamic and conventional education, empowering over 80 pupils to graduate with a strong foundation in both the Holy Quran and modern academic disciplines.

3. Recognizing the vital role of teachers, we have trained over 150 dedicated individuals in the art of effective teaching methodologies and active learning strategies for Qur’an, Arabic, and conventional subjects.

The Challenges

Many people in the Muslim communities believe or tend to believe that Quran and other Islamic subjects should be taught for free and Quran teachers  should not expect any material benefit or a good pay from their work as long as they are doing it for the sake of Allah. This rhetoric and belief negatively affect Quran teachers’ performance, motivation as well as the spirit of teaching others the book of Allah, since they also have their living costs and beyond,  they also need to live a happy and comfortable life just like anyone of us. Hence, campaigning for our Quran teachers in order to compensate a bit of their struggles and efforts, and also to put a smile in their faces and those of their family members.

Funds Needed

We aim to raise RM7,200 which will be used to cover the salaries of 30 Quran teachers for a period of 1 month In-sha’-Allah. With just RM240 you can sponsor 1 teacher for a month.
